Good riddance, 2004

what a silly thing it is to take mets baseball so seriously. i can remember as a kid really having the tone of the next day determined by whether or not the mets won the previous night. that made for a lot of bummed out days.

it's a blessing. all of it. being born and raised in this country. growing up and being all grown up where i can spend even my winters talking about the national pastime and the new york mets. the world's not that kind for many people. for most people, actually. and it's always been that way.

let's live each day in 2005 as if we're actually grateful for all we have.
